my x wants me to sign a quit claim to our house we are living together now have been for 8 months my lawyers said it was to make good with the court, it was to be sold an split but my x offer to let me kept my retirement if i sign aquit claim deed overto him he won 14 yrs of my retirement.
Hi pattycak,

If you quit claim your share of the property to your ex, then he would become the owner of the property. You won't have ownership rights over that property. In that case, you won't be able to claim any equity when he sells off the property. Thus, as your lawyers said, it is best to go to the court and get a formal judgment in this regard.

Thanks
