Wisconsin quit claim deed

Posted on: 18th Aug, 2010 08:40 am
my husband and i are filing for a freindly divorce...even sharing a lawyer. we currently live in the house which we built 10 years ago. we refinanced at a lower rate of interest last dec. when my husband alone signed the note. my husband is "buying me out" but we've been told that we can't file a quit claim deed until the divorce is final. is this true? we hate the thought of having to wait several months.
Hi snancyd!

Welcome to forums!

I haven't heard of any such rule which states that you cannot file the quit claim deed until the divorce is final. You should cross-check with your attorney in order to find out if there is any such rule prevalent in your state.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
