my brother and i inherited property with both our names on it. can we use a quit claim deed to remove his name off of the property that was left to me and take my name off of the property that was left to him?

Basically you wish to exchange the piece of property which is inherited by both of you from your parents/grandparents.....
Surely you can go ahead with quitclaim deed to accomplish these changes...Apart from it make sure that you register the quitclaim deed and even get it notarized so that neither of you won't be in trouble in coming future.
