How do you quickclaim property to offspring in different sta

My father-in-law is visiting us in Arizona and wants to quickclaim his property to my wife and her brother (brother lives in Oregon). How can we use the quick claim deed without all parties in the same location at the same time?
Quick claim deed here and then another in Oregon with the brother?
Hello Fbott,

I think that is possible. The grantees may live at different places but the deed has to be notarized and recorded at the respective County Office where the property is located.

All the states do not require the signature of the grantee. It depends on the laws of the state where the property is situated. If it does not require the signature of the grantees then I don't think it will be a problem.

Otherwise the grantees have to sign in front of the notary.

Where is the property located?

Hi Frank,

Just send the copy of the deed from Arizona to Oregon after your father-in-law and your wife (grantee signature if required) sign on it. Your wife's brother can then sign on it if grantee's signature is needed where the property is located.

I hope it's clear.

Thanks and happy new Year,

Jerry

Jerry,

Thanks for the info - I will go down to the bank tomorrow with my wife and father-in-law so he can take a copy back to Oregon with him. Have a great new year.

A title company can draw up the paperwork and overnight these items to each party. If you are not using a title company and already have this drawn up, I would suggest using an overnight service.
