Quit claim a mortgaged home

Posted on: 15th May, 2010 11:50 pm
my parents financed a home for me, my credit was not good. can the home be quit deeded to me? or can they add me to the loan so that my other siblings dont have any rights? they also have another home that is only in my mother's name can she put me on the deed or should she quit deed it to me so that my siblings dont have any rights when her time comes.
Hi Guest,

The property can be quit deeded to you. You will have to ask your parents to sign a quit claim deed and transfer the property to you. Once the property is transferred, you will have to refinance the loan in your name.

As far as the other property is concerned, she will have to quit claim it to you. This will make you the owner of the property and your siblings won't have any claim over it.
