My mother has been recently put into the nursing home I am the only child and my motheres sole durable power of attorney. I am afraid the nursing home will try to attach my mothers home. I have been her caregiver for more than 10 years and I have lived in this home most of my life. How can I quick claim this home without getting into trouble through Medicaid.
Hi kimmeekay!
Welcome to forums!
Rather than getting the property quitclaimed to your name, it will be better if you could go for the option of ladybird deed. Nevertheless, before going for this option, you should contact a Medicaid attorney of your state and take his/her opinion in this regard. He/she will be able to guide you better in this regard.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
