I wish to quitclaim property that is in my former last name (I think) to my husband and myself using my current last name. My question is; do I use my current last name as grantor or the name on the current deed? I have changed my name on the mortgage. But have done nothing at the local courthouse as far as this property is concerned. Personal property as well as all other ID, documents and property is under new current last name, if that matters.
Welcome tgw,
You will have to first check out whether or not your former last name mentioned on the property deed. If yes, then you need to write your name with your former last name as the grantor of the property and your husband's name and your present name as the grantee to the property.
