i signed a quit claim deed so that my ex could refinance our home in his name. he was denied. what are my rights towards the house now and how much is this going to hurt my credit that my name is still on the mortgage? any solution?
Hi mexirican,
As you've signed a quit claim deed and transferred the property to your ex, then you do not have any rights to that property. If your husband defaults the mortgage, it will have a negative effect on your credit report. If the property is foreclosed by the lender, then your score would go down by 250 points.
Thanks

So, would my next step be to go to court and have him forced to sell it? Thank you for the answer but I need a solution to getting my name off of the mortgage.
Hi mexirican,
As your ex-husband is the owner of the property, then I don't think you would be able to force sale the property. You are no longer the owner of the property.
Thanks
