I would like to know if I can file a quick claim deed while I am separated. My husband's name is on the mortgage, mine is not. It is only listed on the deed. I moved out 6 months ago and he has ownership of the house. There is currently an equity loan in both our names, but I would like to get my name off the deed. Is that possible?
Welcome spiritual,
You can sign a quitclaim deed and transfer the property to your husband. Once you do so, he will become the owner of the property. As the mortgage is in his name, your spouse will be liable for both the mortgage and the property.
