Yes you CAN take his name off of the deed. You would need for him to agree to this. Is he also on the mortgage?
You can ask him for QuitClaim. That legally shows that he no longer has any ownership in the property.
But if he is on the mortgage, then he is still laibale to pay it after that also.

to take your ex-boyfriend's name off the deed, you need to get a quit claim deed signed by him whereby he would release his interest in the property. if he is on the loan as well and you want to remove him from there, you need to refinance only in your name.

he is not on the mortgage but on deed, i went away for a little while because he was abusive when i got back he changed locks on house and the gate to enter house ,i went with police but we still couldnt get in because i dont have keys, everything in there belongs to me, iwant him out and his name off deed but dont know what to do he is and ex-boyfriend he been living there while i have been renting a apartment
At this point really you need to talk to a lawyer and get some legal action going. That may not get him off the property. Probably I judge in court can make this decision.
