I live in New Hampshire. I own a home and my dad is also on the deed with me. The mortgage is in his name only. I reside in the home, not with him. I pay the mortgage and the taxes. We do not speak and have not for over a year due to family issues.
I recieved a letter in the mail that he has contacted the mortgage company to have my name removed from the deed. Can he just have my name removed from being a owner of the home without my permission? I am confused on how he can do this if I also am on the deed.
Hi chriskelli!

Welcome to forums!

Unless you sign the quit claim deed and remove your name from the property, you would remain an owner of the property. Moreover, your father cannot force you to remove your name from the property deed. This would be considered as a fraudulent act.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
