my father is very ill i have a addopted sister and a half brother. there is no will and he has done a quit deed on his house with his girl friend. there is nowhere on the deed that says in common or joint on it who do i find out which it is. also my sister said that her attereny said that all other property such as cars contents of the house would cost me more in probate cost than they are worth . i'm in the dark being the outsider i could use some help.
Hello,

You can talk to your father's girlfriend to find out what type of deed is that. Or else, you can talk to your father's attorney regarding this. He may help you to find whether the deed has joint tenancy or tenants in common.

Consult an attorney for further advice.

Hi,

The best thing that you can do is that, contact to an attorney and make him clear your situation. He is the best person to help you out.

If your dad sighned the home over to girlfriend it means she owns it as far as anything else is concerned without a will it will be up for grabs but if its not worth it then there is nothing you can do about it.

Hi,

In that case I think, she owns the property.

Talk to an attorney for advice.
