You did catch the fact that I live in Alabama, NOT South Carolina didn't you? I can't just take off and drive for 8 hours at the drop of a hat to file this in S.C. if that is where it has to be filed. What I need to know is if I can do all the signature and notary work, then SEND the deed to South Carolina for recording.

You didn't say where you are located, but if you're traveling from Montgomery to Columbia, SC, I learned from Mapquest that it's a journey of about 7 hours if you take the worst of 3 alternative routes. And that's based on driving the speed limit, mind you.

Frankly, it struck me as a little bit pathetic that someone would come on the Forum and complain about the advice that was given in such a manner as you did.
