My friend is considering a quitclaim deed to give the her home to her children in case she had to go in the nursing home. Is this a smart idea.
Hi Rgilbert,
Welcome to the forum.
Your friend can quitclaim the home to her children before she goes to nursing home. In that case, if you are unable to pay off the nursing home bills, they will not be able to place a lien on the house because of the change in title.
But to recover the bills, they can place a lien on her other personal assets.

Yes, I think that is a good idea. but I think old people should hold some property or money for themselves, it's not all family are filial. the future should be created by children.
