can a quit claim deed be used to transfer ownership when money is paid to the grantor by the grantee?
yes, indeed. the quit claim deed is used to transfer whatever interest the grantor has in the property. if there is consideration for that interest, that's perfectly all right.

Quitclaim deed is one of the ways to transfer the property and you can surely use it. But if you are going to pay for the property then I think you should use a Warranty deed. Quitclaim deed does not confirm that the title is free and clear from any lien but a warranty deed does it. So I would suggest you to use a warranty deed if you are buying the property.

yes you can. But quit claim deed is usually used for the grantor transfer the property to grantee. If you will pay for the property, i think the warranty deed is best for you.
