quit claim

Posted on: 31st May, 2010 10:43 am
I owned a property before my marriage as a sole and legal property. Now I signed a quit claim to her. I want to make a Living trust that the property will go to my son from my first wife. Is my present wife can get or have share for the property
Hi Joshian,

As per my knowledge by signing a quitclaim you can add or remove anyone in the property. If you want your son and your present wife to become a co-owner of the property, all you can do is sign a quitclaim deed and add your son and present wife in the property. Consult with a good attorney before signing the quitclaim deed.

Hope this will help you.
