While going through some of my moms papers I found a quick claim deed that she made out before she passed but it has not been filed or anything, my mom passed in 1998 can I still use this deed now to have the house changer over to me?
Hi Ms. G!
Welcome to forums!
As your mother is deceased, I don't think you'll be able to get the property deed notarized or recorded at the county recorder's office in order to get it transferred in your name. Nevertheless, you should contact your real estate attorney and try to get the property transferred in your name.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
