Grantor has mailed me a quitclaim deed for good consideration and for sum of $$ and OVC dollars.

Grantor remise, release and quitclaim unto me (Grantee)
all right, title, interest and claim on described parcel of land.
Hi dg_scales,

If you are purchasing the property from the grantor, then you will have to pay the dollar amount mentioned on the property deed. However, if it's a gift from the grantor, then you are not required to pay the mentioned amount.

Thanks

as a general rule of thumb, payment (if any) in consideration of a transfer of property ought to be worked out between the grantor and grantee ahead of time.

dg, i don't comprehend why you would bring that question to this forum. did you not have any conversations about this with the grantor?
