Quikclam Deed

I am in a pickle so to say

I am in the middle of a divorce. Stay at home mom for the last 14 years. My soon to be ex never put the house in my name that we have owned for 10 years married for 18.

He agrees to allow me to stay in the house until the last child is out of the house which will be in 12 years. Will a Quikclam Deed give me the security that he can not sale the house out from under me.

He has agreed to make the house payments until I want to sell the house or the 12 years. Will a divorce decree protect me if he stops making payments if I can't afford to make them on my own

How can I protect myself from any leans taken out on the house after the divorce.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
Hi genpich!

Welcome to forums!

If you want to protect your interest in the property, it is better to add your name to the property deed. You should ask your husband to sign a quit claim deed and add your name to the property deed. This will help you become the owner of the property and will safeguard your interest.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
