My godmother passed/died about 15 years ago. There was no will and no children. Although she did have 3 brothers (2 deceased and 1 living)I have lived in the house for 11 years and I have paid the property taxes since I moved in (past 11 years). Would this help me to claim ownership to the home? I not, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hi rctk2001,

Welcome to the forum.

I think as there is no will, you should do a title search and also contact with an attorney. He is best person to help you further.

Thanks,
Larry

You may take the title by "adverse possession". States have varying reqirements. Contact a local real estate attorney.
