Quit Claim Deeds

Posted on: 09th Nov, 2010 12:58 pm
I am executor of a trust and will here in the US from a Cousin by previous marriage. I cared for my Cousin for 14 years. In the trust he wanted the home sold and all debt paid for then divided among 6 family member in the UK. However those family members do not want the home sold and want me to have the home and remaining money. What do I do? His will says he does not provide for his heirs? Can they quit claim the deed to me even as executor? I also had power of attorney and durable medical.

Hi Guest,

After the probate is over, the heirs can transfer the property to you and then you can use the property as you'll become the owner. If the cousin is deceased, then the power of attorney will not be taken into consideration.

Thanks
