quit claim

hello, my father recently passed and the house is in his name and my mom's name...my mom is living in a nursing home and i have poa over her bc she has early stage of alzheimers...I wanted to see if i was able to do a quick deed and put the home in my name?
Hi deedee,

You have a power of attorney over your mother but your father's name is still on the property deed. You will have to remove your father's name from the property deed by filing an affidavit of heirship. Then you can use the poa to sign a quit claim deed and transfer your mother's share of property in your name. Thus, you would become the owner of the property.

Thanks
