quit claim deed fraud

Posted on: 01st Oct, 2010 08:34 pm
i am starting my divorce process and just found a document for a cabin we purchased and i just found a quit claim deed that was signed and notarized but i did not sign it. what can happen to my soon to be ex-wife for doing this??
Hi derusty,

If both you and your wife were co-owners of the property, then your wife cannot remove your name from the deed without your signatures. If your wife has removed your name from the deed without your signatures, you can take legal actions against her. You can contact a real estate attorney and take his opinion in this matter.

Thanks,

Jerry
