i was sent a quit claim deed to sign by my husband's sister. their father died a couple of months ago. the attached form lists me as the seller and my husband as the buyer. the property listed on the paper was my husband's home. i have never seen the living trust, so my question is why does this document show that i have interest in the property? is it possible that the father included me in the trust and that is not being disclosed. otherwise, why would i sign a paper that to my knowledge i have no interest in the property?
the quit claim reads: hereby remises, release, and forever quitclaims to: (my husbands name is listed.
thank you.

Hi sharon,
Unless you have an interest in the property, you won't be liable to sign the quit claim deed and transfer the property to your husband. As far as I can understand, you do have an interest in the property. Once you sign the quit claim deed, you will lose that interest in the property.
Thanks
