quit claim

If I am signing over my property to my son using a quit claim form, who is responsible for taxes?
Hi Cindy!

Welcome to forums!

It is the owner of the property who needs to pay the property taxes. You and your son can decide as to who wants to pay the taxes. If your son wants to pay the property taxes, then he needs to add his name in the property taxes. For this he can visit the tax assessors office and get it changed. If you want to pay it, then you can. The bills will come in your name.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
