hi if i purchase a home for cash and the seller gives me a quit claim deed, how do register the property so that i may have full ownership.will i have to get a closing lawyer to gain title to the property.
Hi mycar,
You will have to notarize and record the quit claim deed at the county recorder's office where the property is located. This will help you in getting the full ownership of the property.
Thanks

HI,
The quit claim will not be considered as legal documents until you are not notarizing it in country records. Never forget to record quit claim deed in country records. Its very important.
Thanks & Regards.

taking ownership via quit claim is not wise. you want a warranty deed, and if you're unsophisticated enough in this type of transaction, you absolutely need a lawyer's counsel.
here's what a quit claim deed does: it transfers whatever the person owns to you. if the person owns nothing, that's what you get. if the person owns the whole house, that's what you get.
every day people don't have the expertise to protect themselves in these situations. getting legal counsel is almost an absolute. and no, i'm not a lawyer.
