we have a quit claim deed for a house that we purchases at a county tax sale auction. it is in irina's name, but we bought it together. she wants to put it in my name. how do we do this? also, how would we use the quit claim deed to obtain a title for this house. fyi, we are in michigan. thanks.

She can add your name to the title through a quit claim deed. She will have to sign the deed as a grantor transferring the property to both you and her as grantees. The deed needs to be notarized to be considered valid. Once notarized, you can then file the deed with the county recorders office and obtain a new title for the house.

it can be done by quit claim deed but ensure to get it notorized otherwise deed will not be legal
