Can you claim mortage interest on income tax after signing quit claim deed?

my partner and i had a mortage on a home. when we split up we refinanced the home into my name only and she signed a quit claim deed relinquishing rights to the property. is she allowed to claim mortage interest on her income tax for that year or did she give up all claims and rights to the property by signing the deed?
Hi andi,

The property deed as well as the mortgage has been transferred in your name. In that case, your partner will not be able to claim mortgage interest on her tax filings.

Thanks

I believe you can still claim the interest on the mortgage. This basically comes down to has responsibilty for the actual loan.
