my wife and i are going to divorce and she wants a quit claim deed. i am told it will not release me from the debt. i want my wife to have the house and i want my freedom, what can i do?
hi gibsonmarten,

you will have to ask your wife to refinance the mortgage in her name. once she does so, she will become liable for the mortgage dues and you won't have any financial obligation.
