My brother and his wife of 5yrs are divorcing. The home is in both names. All she wants is $25K and she will go away. I told him he should do a Quick claim Deed to get her name of the deed. If that the right advice?
that's pretty good, calmom. they ought to write up an agreement, however, to demonstrate what they're doing. do they each have a lawyer? that ought to be a part of the settlement that is conjured up.
yes. they will definitely need a lawyer and some sort of agreement/contract. does he have the $25k to give or is he pulling it out of the property. if that's the case, then he would have to refinance as well.
