hi,
about 4 years ago my daughter and her boyfriend purchased a timeshare property together. they broke up shortly after the purchase. all of the payments were made by my daughter and it has been paid off. would a quit claim deed be the correct method of removing his name from the title? thanks in advance for your response.

Hello Candy,
Yes, you may do that using a quit claim deed. Your daughter's boyfriend has to sign the form as the grantor in order to remove his name from the title of the timeshare. The signed deed has to be notarized and recorded at the County Recorder's Office.

Hi Candy,
You can use a quitclaim deed to remove your daughter's boyfriend's name from the deed. But the big question is, will he (your daughter's boyfriend) agree to quitclaim. It is your daughter's boyfriend who will have to quitclaim the property as a grantor. So does he agree to do so?
Thanks,
Larry
