My ex-husband bought a house before the divorce was final, I sighned a quick clain deed to him, now he's having financial problems & I'm getiing letters from lawyers saying that I'm also responsible for this house even though I sighned the quick clain deed.
you signed the loan note, right? that makes you liable for payments in in the eyes of the lender.
did your divorce decree stipulate that you are relieved of the responsibility of making payments? if that is the case, you need to make the lender aware of this. if not, then you are, indeed, on the hook for the payments.
check with your divorce lawyer in the event you have questions as to how your settlement was reached and/or drawn up.

welcome cyndi,
were you also on the mortgage? if so then i would like to say the quitclaim does not transfer the mortgage. you have signed the quitclaim deed but i think you ex-husband has not refinanced the mortgage to take it on his name.
so you can contact with your ex and request him to refinance the mortgage on his name only to remove your name from the mortgage.
