My husband took out a mortgage 7 years ago when he bought out his brother's half of an inherited piece of property. The mortgage company asked that only HE take out the loan (we had applied jointly); They also required that I quit claim the property to my husband. I signed a quit claim. We now are finished paying the mortgage and want to "remove" the quit claim, so that we both are co-owners and on the deed. How can this happen?

Welcome Teacherlady,
You can ask your husband to sign a quit claim deed and add your name to the property deed. He will have to write his name as the grantor and both your name and his name as the grantee to the property. Thus, you would become one of the owners of the property.
