when my husband and i bought our first house my credit was less than perfect. our mortgage broker told us that to be able to be approved for the mortgage, i was told i must sign a quit claim deed so the approval would be based soely on my husbands credit and not in connection with mine. and that at a later date he could add me on the title. this was 12 years ago and the mortgage company and broker long gone. can we reverse this quit claim deed so the house can belong to both of us??
Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
As the mortgage company and broker suggested you, if your husband adds you on the deed by using a quitclaim deed, then you will also get the ownership. So I think there is no need t reverse the quitclaim deed. Just ask your husband to add you on the deed so that the house can belong to both of you. BTW isn't your husband willing to add you on the deed?
Fell free to ask if you have any further questions.
Best of luck,
Larry

Use a Grant Deed to have your husband grant you a one-half tenancy-in-common interest in the property.
