my husband and i are divorcing and his mother of 100 years lives next to me in a home we built for her. he has already assigned the property which has her home and mine on it to me and i assigned a farm to him. i want to make sure he feels comfortable that his mom will remain in her home untill her death. is the quit claim deed with life estate the one i should use so the property reverts back to me upon her death the right one?
Hi Jeanneane!

Welcome to forums!

While transferring the property to you, your husband's mother can include a life estate clause in it. This will help her to stay in the property until death. Once she is deceased, the life estate clause will become null and void and the property would be solely yours.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

quit claim deed with life estate is the right option. go ahead with it.
