Hi maryreid!
Welcome to forums!
You will have to contact the county recorder's office where the property is located and file the deed there.

My mother and father signed their property over to me with a deed that is recorded. My name on that deed was my former married name. I have since had my name changed. I went to the courthouse and was told that I would have to fill out a quit claim form to get it changed to my new name. I got the form but am confused. Is all I am doing is signing over the property to my new name? Also, what goes in the amount section?
Hi Janice!

Presently the property deed is in your old name. You will have to sign a quitclaim deed mentioning your old name as grantor and the new name as grantee. You can even get in touch with a real estate attorney and take his/her help in this regard.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
