Can we do a property quit claim deed?

Posted on: 06th May, 2010 04:42 pm
My mother-in-law wishes to give some property to my husband and I but the property have her deceased mother and father's name on the deed. She purchased the property when she was young. With her mother's and father's name on the property does her siblings and/or their heirs have any claim to her property?
Hi snowknowsdatagraphics!

Welcome to forums!

While your mother-in-law purchased the property, didn't she transfer it in her name? If not, then her siblings will have rights to that property. They can definitely claim a portion of that property.
