signng of quit claim deed

Posted on: 28th Nov, 2009 04:57 pm
my mother had passed about 12 years ago. when she passed i was told by the siblings that we needed to sign a quit claim deed in order to sell the house and divide. i had a funny feeling about all this, and hesitated to sign. i had asked to buy them out and use my inhertance as the down payment. nobody acknowledged my feelings. however i was also told by my mother prior to her passing she was leaving the home to me. under a pressure from sibblings i signed the quit claim deed, as time passes i always needed to know. i did search the property apprasers and found i was the only one who signed a quit claim deed. the house was sold for a below market value, the money was then divided between all of us. i strongly believe i was conspiried against. do i have any legal rights? and where should i start.
Hi gayle,

You have signed the quitclaim deed and have released your legal rights. The home has been sold and the profit has been divided. I do not think taking the matter to court will help you at this point in time. You may bring charges against your siblings that they made you sign the deed under duress, but proving your claim to be true will be a daunting task and there is no guarantee that the judgment will be passed in your favor.
