quit claim deed signed under false pretenses

Posted on: 06th Feb, 2009 11:43 am
back in april of 2000 i was living in miami florida and was asked by my sister to sign a document so that she would be eligible for homestead exemption. she never mention anything to me about giving her my portion of the house that had been heired to us by my grandmother. i will never be welcome to live with her so i asked her to buy me out, this is when i found out about a quit claim deed being signed and asked her to sign a reverse. i have been waiting since june 2008 for the signature what are my options.
Hi tammd,

From the facts presented by you in the post, it seems that you have been betrayed by your sister. She made you sign the quitclaim deed without giving you proper information. Under such circumstances, you can reverse the deed if you can prove that the grantee (your sister) did not provide you the correct information before getting it signed by you or you were made to sign it under pressure.

However, reversing a quitclaim deed is much difficult than signing it. So, contacting an attorney,in this regard, is a very good option.
