do i have to sign a quit claim deed if i signed a paper releasing all equatiy. or can i stay on the deed?
in order to transfer your ownership in a home, you definitely need to do so with the use of a deed, be it a quit claim or warranty deed. from what you describe, i'd think that a quit claim deed is appropriate.
I signed a notarized statement saying i am releasing all equity in my home with my ex ( non husband ) I have not been living there, nor have I been making the payments for 2 years, he has. Now his lawyer is wanting me to sign a quit claim deed. Is that something they could make me do in court? I was not well informed about these things when I signed the notarized statement.
where is your lawyer stephanie?
i don`t have one and really cannot afford to pay one... I am in Indiana
check and see if you can find legal aid in indiana. legal aid provides free counsel for those who cannot afford a lawyer.
honestly, you need legal assistance in this instance, stephanie.
