can you have a quit claim deed from one state and sign it in another

My husband is quit claiming a property to my son. He is in Michigan and we are in Florida. My son sent the form to my husband in Florida to sign. However, he inadvertantly typed in State of Michigan, etc.

I retyped the document putting in State of Florida and I was wondering if he can sign this document and send it back to my son in Michigan, after it is notarized, of course?
Hi judysgarden!

Welcome to forums!

If the property is located in Florida, then the deed to transfer the property should be of Florida. Once your husband signs and notarizes the deed, he can send it to your son. However, it should also be recorded at the county recorder's office.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
