grantor signs agreement to walk away

Posted on: 02nd Mar, 2009 08:47 pm
I took over a property that is in foreclsure. can you stop the grantor from coming back to the property after signing the quick claim deed at my attorneys office for total ownership of his interst. he walk away and still tries to pressure the tenants for rent monthly. :(
Hi evanstar,

Once the grantor signs a quitclaim deed transferring the title to the property to the grantee, he/she gives up all his/her interests and rights to the property. After the deed has been notarized and recorded, the grantee becomes the legal owner of the house. Thus, the grantor cannot come back to the property and claim any interest in it.
