quik claim deed

Posted on: 26th May, 2010 05:02 pm
My mother passed away and her will stated before her death that her property was to be devided between her three children. But years before her death my brother got a quik claim deed for over half the property. Does this mean my sister and I have no claims to the property he got the quik claim deed for?
Hi Phyllis,

As there is a quit claim deed, your brother will be considered as the owner of the half of the property. You and your sister can claim ownership over the rest of the property.
