My father, through my sister's insistance, had her name put on the deed of the house. According to the will we should all receive a share (there are 4 of us). Being that her name is on the deed, will we all still be able to share in the house when he dies or does it only go to her? Thank you
How is her name on Title? Is it Dad "and" Sister? Or is it Dad "or" Sister? If it's the "or", the house will be hers immediately upon Dad passing. Then the Will will go through the legal system and the other 3 children will be added.
Is there still a mortgage on the house? Your Dad isn't allowed to add your Sister if there is . If there isn't a mortgage, why not just add all the children to Title now? Why would Sister be the only one besides Dad? Sounds fishy. Is she going to get Dad to revise the Will too?

If your fahter is the sole owner of the property then the will will hold good
Since yoru sister name is on the deed, she can probably contest it.
One more option is to get your name also on the deed

Hi Andrea,
As the property deed has your sister's name on it, then she would be considered as the owner of the property. If your father's name is on the property deed, then according to the will, that portion would be divided amongst the 4 of you. However, consulting a real estate attorney would be a better option in this regard.
