Statute of Limitations...?

Posted on: 10th May, 2010 07:26 am
in '97 i filed a quitclaim deed on mine & my husband's house and we divorced in '98. he was ordered to refinance our home out of my name within a limited amount of time, which he never did and my name is still on the title. in '06 we remarried and are now divorcing again. what are my rights to the home (we have three children) and is there a statute of limitations on the quitclaim deed i signed in '97?
Hi mimimarie!

Welcome to forums!

I don't think there is a statute of limitations on filing a quit claim deed. If you have added your husband's name to the deed, he will be considered as one of the owners of the property. In that case, you won't have any rights to the property.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
