when i refinanced, the mortgage company required the quit claim deed be put in my name and my mother-in-law (since my wife had no income).
the quit claim shows the grantee(s) as frank thomas amato,(a married man, as his sole and separate property & h. denise maggio, (an unmarried woman) as joint tenants with the right of survivorship...
my mother in law passed away last year and i would like to quit claim my property back to my name and my wife's name. how do i change it? do i need any special forms? i thought i could go to the recorders office and bring the death certificate, but they would not even answer my question - saying that they could not give any advice.

You'll need to record an Affidavit of Death of Joint Tenant to reflect that your mother-in-law has passed and you own the property solely. Then you can do a quit claim deed to add your wife to title.
