myfather in law recently passed away. he had a cottage that he transferred in 1998 to himself and my husband with a quit claim deed. there were no other property transfers of title after that. does the trust indicating that his spouse receives the cottage remove my husband's claim to his portion of the cottage?supercede
Hi Linda,

If your husband's name is mentioned on the property deed, then he will be considered as the half owner of the property. The spouse of your deceased father-in-law will receive only his share of the property.
