My father passed away and my mother is trying to determine how to remove my father's name from the property deed in case we decide to sell the property in the future.
Do you recommend that my mother add my name to the deed for security purposes?
Would a quick claim deed be the best approach?

Hi south,
I suppose your father did not leave back a will. In that case, your mother can file an affidavit of heirship in the county recorder's office and get the property transferred in her name. Then she can sign a quitclaim deed and add your name to the property deed.
Thanks
