my father did a quit claim deed on his summer home that he owns outright. my brother any myself are the grantees. this was done back in 2001. was he suppose to file any type of forms with his state and federal tax filings for that year? he did not. will this be a problem sometime in the future when he passes away? Hello.
Do you have any due property tax. Inquire this to the IRS. IF you have any taxes due then it should be paid as soon as possible. Otherwise IRS can even place lien on your property.

i want to quitclaim my interest in my home i shared with my ex-husband. he lives there currently and the mortgage is in his name do i need his signature to take myself off title.
Hi geri.
Welcome to the forum.
So you are willing to quitclaim your share of the property to your ex-husband and your not on the mortgage loan. Whether you need your ex-husband's sign or not that totally depends upon the state law. But generally the grantee (here your ex-husband) doesn't need sign. However you should check it by an attorney.
Best of luck,
Larry
