Quit Claim Deed Signed to Wife, who pays property taxes?

Posted on: 21st Oct, 2008 02:06 pm
in a previous divorce agreement (calif. 2000) my husband was to pay off the mortgage and sign over the house to me. he was also responsible for paying the property taxes and home insurance costs. in 2002 we remarried each other, we aren't living together at this time. now that the house is paid off (may '07), and he has signed a quit claim deed of transfer to me, is he still responsible for the property taxes and home insurance costs?
Hi AsYouWish!

Welcome to Forums!

If you or your husband has not included your name in the property taxes, then your husband will have to pay the taxes. If your name is listed in the property taxes, then you will have to pay it.

Feel free to ask if you have further queries.
